Have you ever watched a show and thought, I want to go there?
If so, you’re already familiar with Set-Jetting — the travel trend where travelers choose destinations based on their favorite TV shows and movies. Have you heard of it? It’s becoming one of the most inspiring (and fun!) ways to explore the world.
But here’s the real magic: a TV-inspired trip can be so much more than visiting a filming location. With the right planning, it becomes a beautifully layered experience — one that captures the atmosphere, the scenery, and the emotion of the story while still giving you an authentic taste of the destination.
Today I’m sharing how I’d design a Set-Jetting itinerary inspired by two fan-favorite shows: The White Lotus in Sicily and Game of Thrones in Croatia. I’ve explored both places myself, which adds a little insider perspective to the adventure.
f You Loved The White Lotus (Sicily): A Sunshine-Soaked Italian Escape

Season 2 of The White Lotus gave us glowing sunsets, dramatic cliffs, baroque towns, and that irresistible mix of luxury and Italian charm. But the truth? Sicily in real life is even more magical — richer, warmer, and wonderfully layered with history and food.
Here’s how I’d build a White Lotus–inspired itinerary that captures the beauty without the drama:
• Visit the iconic filming spots… and go deeper than the show.
Taormina’s Teatro Antico, the glamorous San Domenico Palace, and those incredible Ionian Sea views are unforgettable. But Sicily becomes even more special when you wander beyond the obvious — into tucked-away villages, tiny trattorias, and bustling markets.
• Stay somewhere with character and coastal charm.
From boutique hotels and restored palazzos to hillside estates and beachfront resorts, Sicily is full of places that feel luxurious without losing their local personality.

• Add immersive experiences that bring Sicily to life.
Think vineyard tastings on Mount Etna, a hands-on cooking class with a Sicilian chef, or a private boat day around the coves near Isola Bella. These little moments make the island feel like your own unfolding story.
• Add a relaxing beach-town chapter in Cefalù.
Cefalù is one of my favorite additions to a Sicilian itinerary. It brings that perfect coastal balance with its medieval streets, golden beach, and postcard-worthy harbor. It’s warm, colorful, laid-back, and an easy place to fall in love with the island’s slower rhythm.
• Explore Sicily’s other gems.
Catania, Ortigia, Syracuse, and Noto each have their own personalities and flavors. The island is made for slow wandering and discovery.
If You’re a Game of Thrones Fan: Croatia’s Cinematic Coast (With a Yacht Adventure)
Croatia’s Dalmatian Coast played a starring role in Game of Thrones. Dubrovnik’s medieval walls, Split’s ancient palace, and the Adriatic’s sparkling blue became the backdrop of some of the show’s most iconic scenes.
But one of the most incredible ways to experience this region is from the water — gliding between islands on a private yacht or small luxury vessel.

ere’s how I’d design a Game of Thrones–inspired itinerary that blends filming magic with real Croatian beauty:
• Start in Dubrovnik before sailing into your story.
We’ll visit GoT favorites like Fort Lovrijenac and the city walls, but I plan these visits in quieter pockets of the day so you can enjoy the charm without overwhelming crowds. Early morning in Dubrovnik feels almost cinematic.
• Hop aboard a private yacht or curated small-group yacht trip.
This is where the adventure truly begins. Imagine waking up to a new island each day:
– Hvar with its lavender fields, beach clubs, and harbor views
– Korčula with medieval charm and incredible wine country
– Vis with untouched coves and that dreamy, slower island pace
It’s the perfect blend of exploration and relaxation, and Croatia is simply built for it.
• Blend cinematic moments with local life.
Yes, you’ll see filming locations, but the real beauty is in the quiet boat-access-only beaches, fresh seafood dinners by the water, sunset swims, and charming harbors that feel far from the crowds.
• Choose accommodations that elevate the journey.
Whether you prefer nights on the yacht itself, a boutique hotel inside Dubrovnik’s Old Town, or a seaside retreat in Split, Croatia has unforgettable places to stay.
• End in Split with even more GoT history.
Diocletian’s Palace is one of the most atmospheric filming locations, and wandering through its stone corridors feels like stepping onto the set. From here, you can enjoy a few nights of coastal relaxation or head inland for wine tastings and historic villages.
Why Set-Jetting Feels So Magical
Traveling somewhere you’ve seen on screen creates an instant emotional connection. You arrive already captivated, already picturing your favorite scenes — and then the destination surprises you with its real-life beauty.
That blend of familiarity and discovery is what makes Set-Jetting so special.
And with the right planning, it becomes more than a themed trip. It becomes an experience that feels personal, meaningful, and unforgettable.
If a show or movie has been calling your name lately, tell me which one. I’d love to help turn that on-screen inspiration into a real adventure.
